Hi serestor. Changing the file name appears to solve the problem and the mp4 files are then correctly recognised by twonky as a video file. This is the odd thing, it isnt a problem with the encoding as per say, but how the .mp4 file is detected as video vs audio by twonky.

Hello, I just upgraded my TS-419P to the 3.2.5 firmware which installs Twonky 5.1.4 RC2 and now if I share a directory that contains MP4 movie files then TwonkyMediaServer will no longer start. Good point. Also i've found that if the audio bit rate is too high on an MP4, the 360 won't play it either. Sigh, still looking for the perfect playback device - which looks like part of the premise of this post. The Western Digital Live device looks promising though - or the Popcorn Hour if you have an extra $200 to drop (and who doesn't).
