    Cody, try using audio waveforms on the timeline. Magnify the timeline so you can see the waves clearly and you'll be able to identify sounds/words and cut in the spaces between. I started editing that way when an impornt client asked me to switch off the audio scrubbing because it got on her nerves (stress, deadlines, angst, etc).
