Problem with audio sync of .ts files | VideoRedo

    https://videoredo.net/msgBoard/index.php?threads/problem-with-audio-sync-of-ts-files.31203/
Around .25s out of sync when played (original .TS was auto deleted). The .TS files with qsf mpeg2.TS -> mpeg2.mpg seem OK though ? Looked at some newer .TS file captures and mediainfo reports the delays are all over the place, nothing consistent. Found a .TS with 1800ms audio delay according to mediainfo and will run some tests.

TS Video with Audio Sync and Time Problems - VideoHelp Forum

The TS video won't play in VLC, Avidemux, or most of my other players. It will play if I re-encode it to MP4, but the audio is out of sync with the video. The TS video will play in SMPlayer and FFplay, and the audio is in sync until it gets to commercials. After commercials the audio is delayed--the amount of delay is close to the length of the commercials.

Synchronization has always fascinated me, or to be precise: why a .ts can be viewed in sync by media players, while the demuxed audio+video reassembled is out of sync. So I'm trying to understand this, and what can be done to prevent it.

MPEG-TS: Easiest way to get audio and video in sync

In the MPEG-TS files my TV set creates, audio and video are out of sync. The actual offset isn't constant, it's different with every recording. Usually it's about 600..900ms. Currently I'm fixing that by picking a good scene, like a door slamming, an explosion, a speaking person in close-up, where you can clearly see if A+V are in sync.

ffmpeg -y -i foo.ts -crf 18 -ac 2 -r 25 -c:v libx265 -ar 48000 -b:a 192k -c:a aac -aspect 16:9 bar.mp4 (I've tried several ways/options, including using HandBrake for that conversion). What happens is that in the resulting edited material, audio and video are out of sync. Can be in the whole file, or only in some sections.
