The AVIDEMUX application survived the upgrade from Hardy to Intrepid, but sometime during the last 10 days, a routine Ubuntu update has broken the sound. So when I load a video, select the main audio track, and then press play, I get the message "Trouble Initializing Audio Device". I'm sure its nothing I've done because computer #2 has exactly the same issue.

avidemux 2.5.1-1 can't initialize ALSA audio device. If I open an mpg file in avidemux 2.5.1-1 and click onto the play button I get a window with the message: "Trouble initializing audio device". After clicking onto the "Ok" button, the video is played but without sound. I've got an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96, which is running with the ALSA kernel module snd-ice1712.
