Okay! This set of TOMMY has a great presence of sound. A Super Audio CD which makes you feel as though the band is right next to you and is very very crisp that does not break or flutter at either the low end or the high end. The copy that I received is an import version from England on Polydor.

Location: Canada. I picked up the DVD-A of Tommy yesterday. I have listened to it twice now. I have not heard the SACD but the DVD-A is incredible. The interview is a bonus and the DVD-A at BestBuy in Canada is $28.99 whereas the SACD is $42.99 so it was a no-brainer.

I would be giving Tommy five stars but the number of releases are getting out of hand. Original release. A few years ago a 2CD version with demos on the second CD [there was a DVD audio release as well]. Now released again on 2CD but this time with a "concert" from the Tommy tour from various locations [and a Blu-ray audio release].

As this title was going to be released on both sacd and dvd-audio, the studio decided that they would record it using 24/96 pcm instead of using dsd from the master tapes. As such I have a complaint that the treble and top end sounds brittle and harsh at times. The digital fingerprint of pcm if you will. But that is a minor complaint.
