I've compared the ACM-3 (Royer copy) to my R121. It has a similar character and output level and actually may even be a tad more extended up top and less honky in the midrange. However, it totally falls apart in the lower mids and the bottom end. In comparison the Royer is very focused and detailed across the entire midrange.
