With this positive experience of the more modestly priced TL Audio processors, I was keen to find out what advantages the Classic range had to offer. Now, I know these units get mixed reviews around here with an aggregate sentiment of mostly 'meh' but I wanted to get your thoughts on using it as a master ...

The C1 is the top of the range compressor from TL audio, and is referenced also differently is the but under the HHB name also. The VP1 preamp has been reviewed if I remember well in the British magazine called Sound on Sound. You can find the review archived online. Maybe the C1 too, and certainly the whole TL audio Ivory line also. For info :

One of the nice aspects of this compressor is the ability to change its gain-control element between a solid-state transconductance amplifier (similar to that in TL Audio's C1 compressor), and an LED/LDR (light dependent resistor) opto-circuit.
