The Samba options were improved, and a USB keyring can be mounted as a Samba share. The answer really depends on how much you understand thinstation. The technical answer would be to set session_0_type to be either rdesktop or freerdp. Session_0 is typically one of the xwindows windows managers you choose. But if you set session_0_type to be rdesktop then when the system boots it will just launch rdesktop and not XWindows.
