It was easy to distinguish the 3.6s and SCS2, the latter sounding significantly more veiled and less open. The SCS3 mates very well with the 3.6s, with a terrific midrange and high end match. Although I haven't heard the MCS1, I find the SCS3 to be a terrific center channel speaker in a Thiel system. Check it out. Five stars.

Thiel SCS3 Center Channels. Impressive off-axis dispersion and bass response for a compact center channel. Crisp, clear dialogue but with no harshness. A little pricey. Would've gladly ordered a plain black finish had it been cheaper than cherry veneer. Surprisingly good off-axis dispersion.

I haven't heard the SCS3, but I am a little shocked at its price. A pair of Thiel CS 1.6s will cost me what I consider a reasonable $2100, but a single coax design SCS3 is $1400. Thiel also promotes the SCS3 as a surround. Their pricing would make your surrounds more expensive than your fronts.
