by unidyn » 24 Jul 2015 04:39 The 04a is a two-way with a 6 1/2" woofer. Later models did use a passive radiator but not the 04a. Thiel can provide replacements. If you're confident the tweeter is original, they're in restorable condition and you want a nice pair of originals I would email Thiel regarding cost.

Could have happened when the Thiel company got sold and went mid-fi. Here's a guy that repaired his and ended up selling the refoamed driver for $25.00. What each model has that is different besides the obvious size of the box is different driver design. Jim Thiel went to a coaxial tweeter/midrange where they are housed together. I believe it started with the 7.2 and then went to the CS6. All the .4 and .7's have this design albeit with new technologies.
