Yesterday my Team Fortress 2 sound stopped working altogether. Sound works with or without headphones with other steam games and from any other source. I have tried going settings, audio, volume, but it doesn't help. I tried using tf2 with another steam account on this computer and the sound still wouldn't work. I've even tried adjusting the mixer, any help would be great

Edit: Disable the silence game audio when game is in the background option at the audio tab. After that, check the little gray/green bar in the volume mixer. If that's moving when tf2 should be making sounds (Like the main menu music) then the problem is not within tf2, so we can narrow the search.
