Further update: it appears the dongle I was sent, identifies itself as "Tenx Technology, Inc. USB audio headset", which is reported in the wiki as follows: Works, but sound is crackling. I wouldn't recommend this one. Chipset is from Tenx technology, type TP6911 D'oh!
