When I plug my electric guitar directly (no amp) in to the line/guitar jack and set the switch to guitar mode, I get some popping/crackling static noises while I play.     I doubt the Tascam US-122 is drawing enough power to affect the power supply but it could be sending a signal into the MAC that is affecting the audio. I would suspect the Tascam US-122 as well. It probably puts some hooks into the audio path and that could be affecting the audio output directly due to a low S/N ratio or software issue.
