Express Way...: Swan M50W 2.1 v/s Audioengine A5 2.0 Review

    https://akshaytalwar.blogspot.com/2013/06/swan-m50w-21-vs-audioengine-a5-20-review.html
M50W only has satellites. Not bookshelves. If you don't have much rear space on your table, at least around 8-12in then it is better to get Swan if you have space for the sub as they are front ported. However purely for music 2.0 bookshelves by AE will probably be better.

M50Ws take up FAR less space, have a much wider sweet spot, sound fantastic, come with a slick volume/mute control pod, and cost less. IMO, unless you absolutely need the high level of accuracy in the Rokits, you're better off with the Swans. They hiss less when muted as well. iPhone 8 Plus & Bose Soundlink II's Sep 2, 2012 at 9:14 PM Post #8 of 30

I've been looking at the Swan M200MKII or Audioengine A5+ but don't know if the Swan's are worth the extra money over the Audioengine's. If I go the Audioengine's I would probably look at getting their DAC as well. Will be used to connect from my HTPC for movies and games from my Xbox 360 / Xbox One.

Swan M50W vs Corsair SP2500. I have an essence STX soundcard, and I'm trying to find the perfect speakers to compliment it, with decent bass, sub-$400. I've narrowed it down to the two listed in the title (eliminating the m-Audio AV40's).

Have owned AudioEngine as well as M-Audios. Can tell you that a pair of $55 Sony SS-B1000 (from amazon) with a used $150 stereo amp can blow AudioEngines and M-Audios out of the water. Haven't heard Swans myself so no comment on that.
