- The ST51 is not as sensitive as the Bluebird. That allowed me to push it harder, and gives me more headroom. It also is not as responsive in the high end, so it is less prone to sibilance. - I liked the warmer sound that other folks might consider a bit "muddy". - It seems to be well constructed.

The Sterling Audio ST51 is a condensor mic I used to record vocals and guitar with in my studio. OVERALL OPINION For the time before it broke after a year which I'll talk about later it was actually very good. For a 1 hundred dollar mic I was impressed. It was a sturdy well made mic. It didn't sound to bad either.

I concluded that I just liked the sound of the ST51. It was a bit warmer than the small diaphragm microphones. Its cardioid pickup pattern did not feed back easily, and it's signal to noise ratio was good enough that I could increase the gain significantly.
