I found that both my Zendrive and Sweet Honey clones sound great through SS amps. However, in my experience, while cranking up a primarily volume boost pedal in order to induce amp overdrive may work really well on a tube amp, SS amps will sound awful when being pushed the same way. SS amps often do not take pedals (in particular dirt pedals) the same way tube amps do.For example, and in TS' case, an overdrive or distortion pedal will just overload the input of the SS amp and it will not sound like drive at all, compared to the response of being pushed like a tube amp would show.
