All of a sudden I am unable to open Sony Vegas Pro 8. It seems to be hung up on the opening screen at “Initializing Audio Engine”. What I’ve tried: ~ uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas. ~ uninstalling DVD Copy. ~ uninstalled all Corel products, which was the last software I loaded after using Vegas last. Please HELP.

I just bought Sony Vegas Platinum addition and the digital audio interface on my system is an EMU 1616M. The interface works real well, but there seems to be a problem with Vegas as it is initializing. When I double-click on the program, and the splash screen appears, it hangs when it is loading the audio engine.

Entered the serial key and waited for the program to start. Then that little Sony Vegas window popped up where he is initializing the I/O Manager and stuff and a little after that sony vegas stopped at GPU Accelerated Video Processing and crashed immediately. Here is what i did: Removing Driver. Removing Vegas. Reinstalling both.
