My Sony ICF-Pro 80 is no longer functioning well. Sony repair quoted me a price of $560 to repair it! (So much for customer support!) I'm wondering whether I could do something to get it working again. Here's the problem. Upon powerup (with fresh batteries) I have no audio - but if left on I get audio in about 30 min. Many thanks for the revised version of the manual. It is far better legible than any other copy available in the Internet. Without it, I hadn't be able to fix a nasty issue appearing a couple of years after recapping my old ICF-PRO80 (replacing that infamous short-lived SMD electrolitic capacitors used by Sony at that time): The display was blank, with no reception.
