    The dropouts occur when the TV is on and also when it is switched off, turning it on or off doesn't solve anything. If you haven't already, I would check to make sure "HDMI Deep Color" is selected on the BluRay if the option is available on the TV (I couldn't find a manual for that model Sony KD-55XH3505.

    For 2-3 weeks now, the audio drops out every 30-40 minutes when watching the built-in apps. This does not occur when watching Blu-ray, or casting music directly to the receiver. Turning either component off/on usually fixes it. Sometimes hitting the mute button for a few seconds will also fix it.
