    I had dabbled with the Linux desktop many times but this most recent time I put Ubuntu 18.04 on my primary machine back in 2018 and have actually been incredibly happy with it. As you noted, with Jackd2 and PipeWire for high-quality audio work Linux is definitely right there and in some ways better than Windows.
