The Realtek HD is fine here on 16bit 48kHz, but remember having issues when trying to up it to 24 bit or checking any of the items in the enhancements tab which include, unfortunately, virtual surround sound. There are two things you can do to fix the problem. Either set your speaker configuration to Stereo mode or uncheck the center channel speaker so the center channel information is sent to the front speakers instead, ie Phantom center mode. You can do that in your soundcards settings or in the Realtek audio manager.

I'm wondering if Skyrim sees that I'm using those ports and thinks that I am using 5.1 or something, even though those ports are assigned different roles in my Realtek settings. I will attempt to try playing Skyrim with only the green audio out plugged in later to see if that does anything for me. Chances are it won't, but I'm getting desperate.
