Simaudio MOON P-3 Preamplifier Review - The Inner Ear Report - 2000 Vol. 12 #4 As far as I can tell, it is discontinued. The current pre-amps that Simaudio offers (P5.3, P7, P8) do not have headphone jacks. Their top-of-the-line integrated amps (i5.3, i7) do not have headphone jacks either, but the lower-tier integrateds (i-1, i3.3) do.

Sim Audio P-3 preamp comments??? - Audiogon Discussion Forum

The factory told me (I have no local dealer) that they had a hard time selling the 5002 because the difference in sound was so much less than the difference in price. The P-5002 was discontinued when the Moon series came out. My guess is that if you already use a good power line conditioner then the P-3 is very close to the P-5.

The MOON P-3 Stereo preamplifier has eight (8) inputs. The A3 input is reserved for use as the 'tape monitor'input. The A4 input is a 'pass-through' which bypasses the P-3's gain section, allowing you to control the gain setting via the source component's own volume control – a home theater processor for example.

Simaudio Moon i3.3 integrated amplifier | Stereophile.com

Unlike more pedestrian integrateds, the Moon i3.3 contains a number of design elements that hint at its connection to the company's pricier gear. The i3.3's amplifier section puts out 100Wpc into an 8 ohm load and 200W into 4 ohms, these power ratings achieved by running the amp in class-A/B biasing. However, true to its high-end leanings ...

The 850P’s sound immediately reminded me of my time with Simaudio’s Moon Evolution P-8 preamplifier and W-8 power amplifier, which I reviewed almost a decade ago. I used Enya for that review, too. Back then I said, “From the opening note, I heard a greatly expanded soundstage: Height, depth, and image size were all increased . . .”

Well, I bought the I-5, but before I plunked down the cash, I auditioned the SimAudio Moon P-3 pre-amplifier at home. I still thought the I-5 was a better choice for me at this point in time. It just seemed to do a better job of taming my Crown amps.
