As is Simaudio’s practice, a highly accurate digital clocking system maintains the DAC’s extremely low jitter levels. Three stages of DC voltage regulation are incorporated into the 100D power supply, as well as traditional Simaudio touches like pure-copper circuit board traces and a symmetrical circuit design.

    https://www.pooraudiophile.com/2013/12/50-off-simaudio-moon-100d-24bit192khz.html
Right now, the Simaudio Moon 100D DAC is on sale at 50% off—from $650 to $325. The DAC features USB, toslink, and S/PDIF inputs and unbalanced output. The DAC features a Burr Brown 24bit/192kHz chipset and will upsample all signals to 24bit/1.411 MHz. The caveat on the unit appears to be that USB input is limited to only 16bit/48kHz.

Simaudio Moon 100D DAC vs. Musical Fidelity M1 DAC ...

The Simaudio DACs are fantastic and while I haven't heard the M1 I remain skeptical of them. I haven't been impressed with a few of their items that I've heard. The one thing you need to remember about the Simaudio DACs is that if you primarily want to use USB just forget them. They say on their site that the USB is basically a throw away.

between the 100D and its much more expen - sive brother, the 300D. They sounded as though they were almost identical twins, so similar was their style of presentation. And to really sweeten the musical pot, Simaudio offers a very generous upgrade deal. This DAC is a bona fide bargain. Go for it. Seriously. —Steve Bourke

Decided on the SimAudio Moon 100D DAC - PC Audio and Music ...

The SimAudio Moon 100D is a good DAC though right? I hope I chose well..but if not I'm sure I can sell it and get something else. Try it for a while and decide. I compared mine to Bryston’s latest DAC and the Bryston was clearly nicer sounding. It was also about 12 times more than I paid for my Simaudio so I wasn’t too torn up.

Not quite to the level of the Moon 390 pre/DAC/streamer (review here) that uses an ESS9026Pro, but still very credible. Besides, what sits around the chip matters as much as the chip itself. Simaudio reportedly finessed the voltage regulation and output circuits extensively in the original model, developments that carry over into the new one.

Schiit Bifrost Uber vs. Moon 100D Smackdown - DAC ...

    https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/27377-schiit-bifrost-uber-vs-moon-100d-smackdown/
First off, the Moon 100D for all its compact cuteness is a wonderful DAC. It casts a soundstage well beyond speaker borders and excels at pacing and rhythm. It fit the bill for my modest bedroom rig and if it weren't for curiosity I would not have changed. First impressions after a weekend of constant streaming through the Bifrost are good.
