@larry5729: All this talk about 2-1/2 way vs 3 way, the sub specs of 35/28/24/14 Hz, what other people tell you (including your "friend", Jim Salk, Brian Ding of Rythmik), is fine, up to a point. But your words remind me of myself when I was new to the hi-fi game, before I had paid my "audiophile dues".

I had a Velodyne Spl 1200, then a JL audio fathom F110, and now a pair of 12" Salk/Rythmik subs and they are my favorite. I liked the Fathom too but the 10" lost steam for me. A pair of Fathom 13" would have been better for me, but I'm quite happy with the my Rythmiks.

FWIW I listened to some fairly high-end Paradigms (forget the models) and Velodyne DD-series subs before (and after) getting my Rythmik. I find comparing good subs difficult at best. I think these offered comparable performance but at a cost point of from $3k to $5k vs. around $1k for my Rythmik.
