[software that reads ac3 will just have to decode, edit, and re-encode anyway]. Also Videowave/MyDVD will not encode 5.1 ac3, though they will pass it thru. FWIW I use PgcDemux with discs from my Pani DVDR -- this gives m2v video and ac3 audio that while a bit different is usually tolerated in most software.

I downloaded the file and tried playing it with VLC - Excellent audio. I then used NXT 7's myDVD to create an iso file which played fine with audio. Examining the MPG file with MediaInfo shows that it has PCM audio. The ISO that MyDVD made has AC3 audio The software (properly installed) seems to be doing its job.
