Rewire, why not? | Support, help and ideas - AudioMulch

In the meantime, to set up a "rewire-esque" set-up, I believe there are examples of MIDI and audio reconnectors which act as virtual patch cables between AudioMulch and a DAW (or anything else). I'm trying to find something I printed off a few years back (but with no luck), if i get time I'll copy it out.

AudioMulch 2.0 - Sound on Sound

AudioMulch can drive multi‑channel audio interfaces, both for input and output, but it has no other audio interfacing facilities: it cannot, for example, run as a ReWire client. A Contraption called SoundOut routes a stereo signal to your audio interface's main outputs (although you are free to repatch outputs as you wish).

To my knowledge, the current version of AudioMulch does not have ReWire functionality. I could be wrong, tho - haven't used it in a while. In the meantime, if you're looking for a modular VST host for Windows that does ReWire, try Plogue Bidule. http://www.plogue.com/bidule/ Do a search for Bidule on these forums.

Unlike Rewire, there is no MIDI part of this, so for MIDI synch you have to use virtual MIDI cables and Chase MIDI in AM. ReWire is a similar beast and I am thinking very carefully before I support it. [end rant] Now of course, if you've read the road map, you will see that I am hoping to develop some kind of integration solution this year. But that's the future.. a new use for AudioMulch. best not to think of AudioMulch as having anything to do with that at present.

AudioMulch vs Bidule | Support, help and ideas | Forums ...

AudioMulch pro: easy and fun to use, fairly open-ended. AudioMulch cons: no way to save 'groups' of contraptions as you can do in Bidule, less of a 'programming language' and more of an audio patcher. There is a fair bit of overlap in functionality between Mulch and Bidule, but they really are pretty diverse in the range of things they can do.
