ClearAudio Champion Magnum TurnTables. My Wife and I were looking to upgrade our turntable so we visited the only High-end audio dealer there is in Birmingham, AL, Audio Forest. After meeting the guys that own the shop and touring some of the listening rooms that had digital sources, we went in to the room with the big JM-Lab Utopia loudspeakers.

The straight skinny: The Champion 2 will provide very good overall performance when teamed with a well-considered match of tonearm and cartridge. In spite of my beefs about its ergonomics, the Clearaudio offers a commendably solid package and a lot of performance for a very reasonable tariff. That should be more than enough for most vinyl lovers.

Everything is beautifully made and finished, and the total effect is striking and extremely handsome; the Champion 2 looks and feels as if it costs a lot more than $2800. Setup The Champion 2's tonearm mounting system is unlike any other I've seen, and not easy to describe or deal with.

Clearaudio Concept Turntable - Audiophilia

My review of the upgradeable Clearaudio Champion is a case in point. The upgrade path made for audiophile fun and a glimpse into the upper echelon of their line. It sounded wonderful from what I can remember, but at its upgrade end, it was quite expensive. I tricked it out with shelving, suspension platforms, liquids and potions and a Glider ...

Does anybody out there have a VPI Scout turntable or a Clearaudio Champion Level 1 or 2? I have been looking at the VPI Scout for the last couple of weeks. I really like the Scout. I have read some reviews on the Scout. Pretty positive! It has upgradeables like a flywheel and SDC controller. For the money, $1500 it's great machine.
