Dakajoba, very well stated "HONEST OPINIONS" which is definitely unlike the distorted and very bias "professional"audio reviewers. Says Gthrushl "trash", the product may not be that low but i for one won't consider listening to Jolida for this frank response. It's this kind of to the point opinion that makes Audiogon great.

Using it to drive Totem Forest speakers. I contacted Jolida. They recommend KT88s. Their reply is a bit unclear but they might be suggesting Electro Harmonix. They also indicate reliability issues with Chinese KT88s. Response Audio (Jolida dealer and modder) recommends Shuguang KT88s (Chinese).

The Jolida seemed a safe bet. I ordered one from Response Audio, but they were out of stock. Luckily I found a demo from Audio Visionary in NYC. BTW, both of these guys were great to deal with. The Jolida replaced a Parasound HCA800II power amp. The first listen to the Jolida proved my assumption about amp similarities all wrong.
