    Have you checked your bios to make sure it (onboard sound) is still enabled? Next go into control panel > system > hardware > device manager and see what it shows in for the sound device folder. If it shows a sound device right click on it and disable it. then restart and windows should find new hardware then point it to the driver disk you have.

    okay so just right click on my computer, click manage, click device manager, click on sound video and game controllers, and you will see that one of the audio drivers arent properly installed. (It will have a yellow exclamation point) Then just double click it, and follow the instructions and it will install it for you.
