I have an HP zx5180US laptop with onboard audio from Realtek AC'97. Installed the RC of Window 7. It is not having any luck using my Realtek AC'97 hardware. I have tried all the normal driver issues, update, uninstall, reinstall, no luck, end up with "no audio output device is installed". The drivers I found for the hardware do not seem to help

The board has integrated Realtek AC'97 sound. I can't seem to get the sound to work. I've found a Vista/Windows 7 compatible driver and ran it in compatibility mode. When I rebooted the machine, 'System devices' showed an 'High Definition Audio Controller' and 'Sound, Video, and game controllers' showed a 'High Definition Audio Device'.
