The RE Audio XXX 18" have 54mm of xmax! And weigh 110 pounds! :eek: Are these things well made? How big of an enclosure would you need for a sealed setup? A guy on one forum has a 25ft3 enclosure tuned to 11hz with one of these things.

I've been installing budget components (cheap Kickers etc) in most of my vehicles, but now I'm wanting to get back into it again. Back in '04ish, I had an RE SE 12" in a ported built to spec box with a JBL BP-600 amp, that was an absolute beast.

I guess if you're going ported then the power requirements are not so extreme anyway, avf is in sealed mode these days for sure (whereas avs is definitely the place for ported, you might find MartySub FAQ - AVS Forum worth a read). I'm here for both SQ and SPL btw (though weighted towards the former)

Now i'm running a 15" xxx made by re and pushing it with a directed 2400d amp. I love it. Jl amps gave me all types of battery and alternator problems. Ive been running this for two years now. You pay for the name. The quality is the same. Mobile one, a local but well known audio shop built the box for me and was making fun until they heard it.
