With this Pyramid amp, it almost hurts my ears! So ya, all these people saying it doesn't put out true 1000 watts got something defective because mine sure does. Update 6/15/14 - I've upgraded my system to two 12" Kicker 300w 4ohms subs one per channel(not even bridged), and I have the gain at about 3/4 and I can still overpower the subs.

First time buying a pyramid America amp, but I've had friends that have used them before with no problems. I have the 5,000 watt model hooked up to 2 15 inch Boss Audio Phantoms, they're rated at 2,500 watts peak each and this amp seems to power them just fine, I only have the gain turned up just past half way.
