I just got a video file that is h.264 mp4, with AAC 5.1 audio. Using Universal Media Server, I could see the file on the PS3, but when I tried to play it, I got a 800288E1 "cannot play" message. AAC was introduced into consumer electronics as a codec for transporting digital audio over optical or digital connections.
