The GCPH is attached to a SOTA Sapphire. I got the GCPH because I really liked the other PS Audio products, so I chose it for my second turntable. This is probably the noisiest product made by PS Audio, particularly if the front volume control exceeds the 2 pm position.

Setting the loading down to 100 Ohms improves noise a bit. The noise was not all hum, but mostly white thermal noise, which means the transformer orientation inside the GCPH is OK. At the volume control setting of 1:30 (12 being straight up), I measure the gain at 40 dB with 3 mV (at 1000 Hz) in, 300 mV out. Considerably under the 48 dB stated.

i own the GCPH Phono stage and love it. I use it with a Cayin integrated tube amp and it retains all the warmness of the tube sound.
