Long due review. I own several PS Audio products including the NuWave phono, a Trio preamp, and the GCPH. The GCPH is attached to a SOTA Sapphire. I got the GCPH because I really liked the other PS Audio products, so I chose it for my second turntable.

I use this along side a plx1000 turnatable - sugden a21a A class amp - bowers @ Wilkins cm6 s2 . Ok this is some serious phono stage , I play mostly electronic ambient/techno and with the pa audio it really brings out the intricate melodies and harmony .

The device is an Analog Devices SSM2019B pre-amp. I was under the impression that the GCPH used only "fully balanced True Class A circuits through-out" (Ryan Conway, PS audio review on Audio Advisor), meaning discrete Class A circuitry. It is not. The SSM2019B is not differential balanced, and its questionable whether it is Class A biased either.

The PS Audio was my favorite for this price range until I heard the SimAudio. This is really the killer phono preamp with all the adjustability along with a 10 or 15 year warranty made in North America. You really don't have to read the reviews, order one and use it for a month in your own system.
