    It sounds as if you are dragging from the timeline into the source monitor. If so, that is why you are not getting the audio - that's how Premiere (up to 6.5, at least) works. Don't ask why! Drag from project to source window and try that. You should have both video and audio options available. If not, you have a setup problem somewhere.
