You have to go into the game Settings and change the MIC options to "push-to-talk". That way the MIC will only work when you press the designated talk key, which can be set in the Controls section in the games Settings. May 24, 2020 @ 2:25pm. Coop mic can't turn off. Okay so I'm playing Portal 2 with a friend of mine, and we're both using Discord to chat while we play toghether since the audio is way better with it. However, in Portal 2 we are unable to turn off the in-game voice chat, even when we're not pressing the bind key for the push-to-talk.
