Sound off Polk vs. Paradigm - Polk Audio Forum

I know both Paradigm and Polk very well. I know polk better as I have owned many of there speakers and worked with them for years. I also work with Paradigm but only for the last 6 months. The Rtia9's are a nice speaker. Not really in the same class as the Studio 100. I would probably compare the Monitor 11's to the Rtia9's .

First off, you'll probably find that the Polk's are just way smoother in the upper range (above 3000 Hz or so) than anything Paradigm has. It's not even close, even Paradigm's Signatures aren't as smooth as these are. Paradigm's are known for being on the bright side and to many are fatiguing (not me, I like it bright and airy).

If we are talking about the upper end stuff, Polk really only has the LSI's and then Paradigm now has their Sigs which are outstanding. However if I was going to drop 3k or so on speakers, I'd take a strong look at Monitor Audio as well on top of Paradigm and Polk LSI and I'd aslo look at the Energy Vertias line as well.

Audio. Speakers. Paradigm vs Polk vs Klipsch. Jump to Latest Follow ... it will be like having a new set of speakers. The RTI line of Polk speakers really excels in the mids. Yes, they do have bit of a sizzle at the top end (bright but not harsh) but that can be either EQ'd out or helped with more power.

I have found Paradigm's bass response is amp dependent and those with current feed the Paradigm best. Polk should be warmer and softer sounding in comparison. Last I saw …
