PSW1000 . fuse keeps blowing. So last week I realize my subwoofer was unplug, so I plugged it in. the switch was on the on position and once I plug it in I got a pop noise. So I pull the fuse see that it blew so I went to radioshack. I got 5amp 250volt slow blow as I dont have a manual and didnt think about the forums until yesterday.

Welcome to Polk's forum. Blowing the AC fuse in any amplifier is a reason to figure out what might have happened to cause it. Fuses blow because either the rated voltage was surpassed or (more likely) the rated current was exceeded. Were there any problems with your house AC, brownout or power interrupted, for example?

I've had a Polk speaker system with subwoofer in my home for over ten years. Recently the subwoofer blew an internal fuse. A check with an old analog ohmmeter seemed to indicate the TIP31 (Q1) was shorted. I happily replaced it AND the TIP32 (Q5). It still blew fuses. I then checked the bridge rectifier and it seems OK.

I just purchased Polk Audio PSW10 and plugged it in with no speakers attached but no power. I troubleshooted it and noticed it was a blown fuse. I purchased the same rating 2A250V, fast and slow acting and both blew as soon as I plugged it in the outlet directly. Then I tried it with the woofer plugged into the receiver but it still blew the fuse.

As I recall, a fast blow fuse will pass twice its rated current for something like 3 seconds before blowing. A slow blow will pass twice its rated current for more than twice that time before blowing. If your KSW-10 blows its fuse, you can use a 1 amp, slow blow fuse - nothing larger.
