The RD0194-1 is a direct, drop-in replacement for the SL2000, however some creative modifications must be made when replacing the SL1000. The RD0198-1 is a drop-in for the SL2500 and SL3000. I saw a discussion over at Audiokarma about the Monitor 7 series 2 that is an 8 ohm speaker which sparked my interest.

Definitely noticed a much cleaner top end! Carver C-1, M-500 MKII, Yamaha HTR-5835, Polk RTA 12BM's (M-for mod'd). On my Monitor 7's I bypassed the fuse and it made the tweeters (original Peerless) very bright. I had to add back in a 1 ohm resistor across the fuse holder to get the tweeters to settle back down.
