LSI vs LSIm. My son is headed back to college in a few weeks and he needs a new pair of speakers for his on-campus apartment (Blew out his last pair during his sophmore year - college kids -go figure). Here's my dilema. I can either buy him a set of speakers (used or new for about 300-400 bucks) or give him my LSI9s.

In all cases, with different types of music, I preferred the LSi9's, stock and modded to the 703's. The modded LSi9s' were preferable (to my ears) by a WIDE margin. The 703's had plenty more bass, but just seems the lack the life of the 9's all around.

The Reserve has a better Tweeter which is the same one used in the Legend Line. From what I learned it's a revamped model from the LSIM series with improvements. The Drivers are also improved with using the Legend models. So technically speaking they should out perform the LSIM speakers. The LSIM however have a pretty nice cabinet.
