The LSi series sounds incredible and they are beautiful, as well. There is plenty of power to spare. I did, however, have to upgrade my Denon receiver to another Denon receiver that was capable of driving these 4 ohm monsters. I don't regret any of it. I was very happy with my experience using Acoustic Sound Design.

I also have the Polk Lsi series for surround and center channel. I listen to mostly blues with a variety of other types of music including rock and jazz. These speakers are absolutely perfect when listening to Robert Cray, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore or Bonnie Rait, blue's have never sounded any cleaner, excellent mids and highs.

REVIEW: Polk Lsi9 — Polk Audio Forum

Nice review Steve....I'm torn between the 9's and 15's when I finally decide to replace my current speaks. H9. Absolutely, cabinet size plays a huge role. There's just so much you can expect out of a compact speaker, the Lsi9 in all but the largest rooms will play plenty loud without compression for 99/100 owners.

Polk Audio LSi7 Bookshelf speakers review and test

Yes, a tonal balance is good here, but with such a magnificent in depth and quality bass there is just not enough the same informative sound in the rest of the range. Nevertheless, among the strong qualities of Polk Audio LSi7, we should note a confident upper range, a rather informative middle and a thorough study of the midbass attack.

Polk says the LS i 9 has a -3dB low-frequency point of 50Hz -- realistic with some careful setup. Nevertheless, what this figure doesn’t tell you is how much impact these speakers have down low. The LS i 9 is capable of wallop on the bottom end that is very impressive.

I'd been very impressed with Polk's demonstrations of their flagship LSi line at the Home Entertainment 2001 and 2002 shows, so when I learned that the least expensive entry in that series, the $820/pair LSi7 bookshelf speaker, just scraped the $1000/pair ceiling of my self-imposed "affordable speaker" price bracket. I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Review: Polk Audio Lsi 25 Speaker - Audiogon Marketplace

The new Polk Lsi series are great speakers. I heard them at the Alexis Park at this years CES. I was suprised indeed. The sound quality, detail, and overall presentation was better than many speakers costing much more. I listened to Polk Lsi's extensively after the show, and read the glowing reviews from W. Philips & A. Cordesman.

I was never a huge fan of Polk for music, but the LSi is a whole new ballgame compared to their RT series. The best bet would be to get a pair LSi9s, and a SVS or HS sub to hi the lower octaves. But the LSi9s have phenominal imaging. ~Bob</font> Rob Babcock Moderator Nov 16, 2003 #3
