Polk LSiM705. These speakers have been on my watch list since they came out a few years ago. At $3,000 a pair they’ve been a bit out of my price range. When a recent sale from Polk presented itself, I snapped up a pair! Wow, these puppies are heavy. At 78 lbs these are about 20% heavier than the LSi15s at 66 lbs.

Polk Audio LSiM705 does not focus on subtle nuances, preferring a broad stroke. Micro-rhythmic patterns and swirls are also not very visible, but the main rhythmic skeleton is drawn in all recordings. I could probably reuse the packaging, if it is carefully glued and taped back together. The 705's double-wall corrugated shipping cartons were very thin and very soft. The form-fitting Styrofoam blocks were soft and spongy. In contrast, the LSi15's double-wall corrugated shipping cartons were very thick and very stiff.

I bought some Polk 703s and a 706c back in March when they were 50% off based solely on pricing and reviews. I have yet to hook them up, but I'm hoping for great things. Most everything I read about the LSiM series was pretty glowing. I just bought a Denon X6200W AVR and am in the process of getting an old Yamaha M80 two channel amp repaired.
