so try going to the sound settings ( options scroll along the audio part ) while playing a bluray click on that , then go to audio click that and try changing the out put method to either bitstream or lpcm after changing the setting i had sound , but i was able to go back the 1st setting i had and still had sound again ,

I just recently switched from a PS2/3 Component cable to an HDMI cable on the PS3. I was previously able to watch my Blu-Ray movies but, can't now that i've plugged in the HDMI.
