PD170 audio problem. Hi folks. I recently purchased a new PD170 and shot my first wedding with it last weekend. Overall I love the camera. However in capturing the footage I have a consistent audio dropout about every 3 seconds. Has anyone experienced this before? I am using MiniDV and shooting in the DV SP mode.

duno if its much help but my pd170 had its DPF replaced once already and i've got issues with its replacement (which cost £2000). VCDS shows left bank as blocked. I'm not bothering to sort it, removal and remap once funds are in place. Good chunk less than what it costs to get the DPF replaced.

I've never had a problem with the VX2000's drop-frame timecode though. PD170 can record to DVCAM. Not a plus in my book, really. As I understand most Sony miniDV equipment can play DVCAM whether it can record or not. For me, the built-in XLR jacks, phantom power, separate audio levels, and separate iris and gain controls are totally worth it.
