2012-10-18 4:49 pm. #8. output impedance of the PCM1794. One important value is the output impedance of the PCM1794. Some say it is 2k ohms, others say is less than 1K ohms, Ti says is 2 Mega ohms. By my experience it is more than 100K ohms . I have use the following circuit to come up to this result.

The caveat is that the PCM1794 chip is driven by an LT1761 that taps off the IV stage power supply. What I did was to remove this tap by removing the SMD jumpers and completely removing the LT1761-5 on the board. ... Should we use PCM1794A or PCM1795 | diyAudio

    https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/should-we-use-pcm1794a-or-pcm1795.327116/
I have dual pcm1794, dual pcm1792 and dual 1795 and single 1795 with all the same tube output stage ( 6n6p srpp stage at 200v) and i can not notice any difference in sound. The specs and measurements of the pcm1794 and pcm1792 are better but no difference in sound. So go for single pcm1795, this is a lot cheaper.

A high quality external master clock (PLL) can be helpful to help alleviate jitter problems. Make sure you use a high quality voltage regulator for the external clock (I use LP2982 and a PLL1707 for the clock, another common D.I.Y. clock is the " o2 "). Tuning the I²S track lengths can help too, even though its low frequency, and if your DAC ...

It concerns a DDDAC 1794 NOS dac. No digital filters are enabled. The PCM1794 is an advanced segment DAC, similar to the PCM1730 which I'm STILL putting together. They work in similar ways to Delta Sigma DACs and it runs a single ended supply. The far superior PCM1704 is a Sign Magnitude DAC. These are true multibit DACs unlike the Delta Sigma or Advanced Segment DACs.
