If you do not at that point have sound go to your Control Panel (In Win98) and open the System program. Look for your sound card and see if it has a yellow question mark next to it. If so, view it's "Properties" and press the "Reinstall Driver" button. The driver can be found on your Win98 machine's hardrive in Parallels-->Sound. Enjoy!!

It seems Parallels stopped officially supporting Windows 98 after version 3.0. They no longer ship Parallels Tools for the OS and don’t provide an audio driver. Today, however, I have solved the problem. Between the Parallels 12 update and some internet searching I have finally successfully installed audio drivers for Windows 98SE!

Go to Start menu > Settings > Control Panel > Add Hardware and click Next. The wizard searches for connected devices. When the connected driver appears, click Next. Click the Have Disk button and then the Browse button. Specify the path: C\:Program Files > Parallels > Parallels Tools > Sound/Video/Win98. Click Next.

The Dxdiag-Tool is showing no availability with the current Parallels Video Drivers, only DirectDraw seems to work. Did I missed something? Are there any newer drivers available for Win98SE to use DirectX-based software at all? Oh, I'm using Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5608 on OS X 10.5.3, by the way. Regards, Dirk
