Emotiva XPA-7 Gen 3 VS Outlaw audio Model 7700 amplifier. Both are rated @ 200 per Channel. lovinthehd Audioholic Jedi. Aug 7, 2019 #2 Pick one. Personally I'd go with the Monolith 7 for less $ if I absolutely had to have a 7x200w amp. ATI makes the Monolith and believe also the Outlaw 7700. 2 KEW Audioholic Overlord ...

To use an analogy, Outlaw Audio is a Toyota - very solid, well-built and reliable car and the Emotiva is a Yugo (ie a death trap, hope it does not break down on you in the first month of ownership). It is very humorous for me to read Emotiva owners rave …

Down to two choices for an amp for my mmgs. Outlaw rr2150 or the emotiva pt100/a300. Both have more than adequate power and current. Emotiva has better digital input options. Outlaw has bass management if i add a sub. The emotiva is current, outlaw was discontinued 3 years ago but available as new b stock. Hard decision.

It is marginally more powerful than the Outlaw Audio 7700 amp which producces a minimum of 100 watt/ 8 ohm and 165 watts/4 ohms per channels. Either amp is fine, but I would prefer the Outlaw, just in case I ever wanted to go with 2 …

I have been doing this for 2 years in a bedroom system set-up. The associated equipment is a Cambridge Audio Azur 540 DVD player and Rega Ara speakers.

The Outlaw sounded a little warmer and richer but with no lack of fine detail, the Parasound a bit crisper and airier but in no way edgy or bright. These differences could be argued about, and will by those who contend that all competent amplifiers sound alike (a heated topic that will never end), and I won’t declare here that either amp is the absolute best of the two.

I have an opportunity locally to pick up either a used ATI 2505 for $700, a new-in-box Outlaw Audio 5000 for $450, or a used Rotel RMB-1075 for $450. The ATI is an older amp, but it offers 250WPC into 8 ohms or 375WPC into 4 ohms. So it's a good bit more powerful than the Outlaw or Rotel. The Outlaw offers 120WPC into 8 ohms or 180WPC into 4 ohms

The Outlaw Audio 7220 used to be in the mid-to-high $2,000s. Before the giant price increases in the 7220 and the increase on the 7900. Instead of the Outlaw 7220 (7 X 220 watts), you can get the much more powerful D-Sonic M3A-2800-7. (400 watts X 7) which sells for hundreds less than the Outlaw 7220.

Emotiva A-700 or Outlaw 7000x | AVS Forum

The outlaw has xlr inputs so i could use all xlr connections since my xpa 5 already has them. It also has better all channel driven specs (130 watts vs 80). It is roughly $300 more expensive. Given my use case, would the outlaw be worth the price difference? Would it be beneficial to stick the same amp manufacturer for all channels?
