Although I am very fond of OSCON in digital gear I am surprised that they are recommended in tube amps. My experience is that they don't sound optimal in the analog signal path. In the digital part of cdplayers and for the supply of low jitter oscillators they are the right cap at the right place.

Os-Con's in the signal path. In my experince of using Os-Con caps for over 3 years in everything I touch, they work fine in the signal path. I personally think any thiness observed in the bass has to do specifically with the OS-CON capacitor 'opening up' the high frequencies.

1. The film cap is very very expensive compared to OS-CON for the same size capacitance. 2. The film cap is big. Well, who wants that on the portable device like iPhone? From that stand point, I tolerate even tantalum cap over OS-CON. Sony must be hallucinating to promote OS-CON. A real man goes for film cap.

I've used them as cathode bypass caps in two of my tube amps (C3G and Aikido) with very good results. Going from electrolytics to Os-Con in the C3G amp was a VERY noticeable improvement in bass tightness and overall clarity. I used the Os-Cons in my Aikido from the beginning. 1000UF 16V - $20.44 a piece.
