I have a pair of JBL 2225H, 2205H & LE8-t woofers. I've only just acquired the LE8-t's but I have been inquiring on designs for each as I got them, but now since all are at me (design disposal) I have questions on OB designs. #1 Do hybrid designs integrate well in the crossover portion? #2 Does...

The B200 works a treat, and is design-specific for open baffle, for a fact. That it works in other BIG loads like the 175 sealed box is a function of the high Q=.7 rather than anything else. Powered by SET, and shelved under 200Hz it becomes a real hologram projector.

Open Baffle vs Infinite Baffle. | diyAudio

In an ideal infinite baffle the sound from the rear doesn't return. In an open baffle the rear sound does interact with the sound from the front and will measure and sound different from an infinite baffle. The radiation pattern will also be different. That said , it probably is a nice idea to have a rear cavity .

Basically, at low frequencies, the positive wavefront out of the front of the baffle is cancelled by the negative wavefront out the back of the baffle. This is mitigated by making the baffle larger, adding U "wings" or an H-frame, using large (15", 18" or 21"), efficient woofers with …

Quick question, what purpose do the rear panels/wings serve on open baffle designs? I see some without (Linkwitz 521) and some with (Paul Carmody Sunflowers). Are there any means of modeling what they will do for the response? I can always add a wing to the design afterwards, but i'd like to submit all the cutting for CNC at once if possible.

Efficient speaker I’m driving comfortably with my 12 watt push pull tube amp. If anyone has been considering this Chinese made driver I highly recommend. Same driver that Decware is loading into an open baffle speaker.

The drivers the speaker is designed for is the Lii audio Fast-8 full range driver. It would be no crossover and the drivers would be in parrellel. Baffles are 13" by 13" and the angle of the bottom baffle is 15°. Baffles would be held to the frame by 1/4" threaded rod with bolts cranked down on the front of the baffles and the back of the frame.
